Abuse testing evaluates the relative safety of cells by subjecting them to potentially catastrophic conditions and monitoring their response. These tests are conducted by Battery Lab staff on behalf of users to ensure safety.
The Battery Lab can test cells fabricated in-house or provided by external users and suppliers.
Capabilities
- Thermal abuse – quantitative testing using a Thermal Hazard Technologies Accelerating Rate Calorimeter (ARC)
- Physical abuse – qualitative nail penetration testing with video recording
All results are handled confidentially, with IP protection to ensure secure and trustworthy evaluation.
